Here are other skills that are not required for a Paladin, but I think are still good to learn. (More skills learned = more TDPs earned!)

Disarm Traps ~ The ability to disarm traps on boxes that different creatures drop from time to time. Traps get harder along with the creatures you hunt. The more skill you have in this the easier it gets. Goes hand-in-hand with the next skill.  DISARM my <box type> (Identify, Mark, Careful)

Lockpicking ~ The ability to pick a lock so you can open a box.  You will need a lockpick for this.  PICK my <box type> WITH my LOCKPICK

Swimming ~ Some hunting areas either have water in them or require you to swim to get in. It is easier to swim the lighter your burden, and heavy plate is just that.

Foraging ~ The ability to find items in the wild. Handy for finding roots, flowers and such to make healing potions and salves for when there's no Empaths around. Also useful for foraging twigs and branches to sell to Mags, or to combining twigs together to learn mechanical lore.  FORAGE <item>

Musical Theory ~ One of the five general lore skills, while not required, it's best to get a musical instrument and start playing when your young.  PLAY my <instrument> (AIMLESS, QUICK, etc.)

Skinning ~ The ability to skin the creature you have just killed, remember to search it after skinning it (how else will you find those boxes to disarm and pick?).  Carry a piece of rope with you to bundle those skins you get, and sell the bundle to the local tanner (in Crossing, ask Falken for some rope, and he'll give you some for free).  Skinning is best accomplished using a skinning knife and kneeling.  Skinning can also be learned with a scraper.  SCRAPE <skin/pelt> WITH SCRAPER (NORMAL, QUICK or CAREFUL).  Scraping skins also teaches Mechanical Lore.

Magical Devices ~ The ability to control the magic in objects or on scrolls. Runestones have spells in them. Magical devices with Primary Magic helps you to decipher the spell and to cast it.  FOCUS my <device>.  You need to have both hands free to do this.

Hiding ~ The ability to blend into the surroundings about you.  the more armor that you wear the harder it is to hide. Useful when waiting for a ferry or barge and you are carrying coins. NEVER use this ability to hide in combat, bad things will happen to your soul.

Stalking ~ The ability to move stealthily from one room to another. Again, the more armor you wear, the harder it is to stalk. Useful to stop 1-2 rooms before the ferry or barge, then stalk into the room while hidden.
